LUCKNOW: A brawl between two class 9 students over a petty dispute turned nasty in Sarojininagar with a third person, who tried to intervene to end the tussle, ended up in the hospital after being shot at by elder brother of one student who he had slapped in the process of calming him down.
“A courier agent Shivanshu Kumar (19) who intervened to end the fight and, in the process, had slapped one of the students was chased and fired upon by one of the elder brothers of the student and his two aides, with countrymade pistols. His cousin was also hit by a bullet,” said Santosh Kumar Arya, station house officer, Sarojininagar.
“Both the victims are recuperating in the KGMU Trauma centre. One of the aides of the attackers has been arrested,” said the SHO.
Narrating the sequence of events, a senior police officer said that two students Kunal and Rahul (names changed) both aged (15) were fighting over some issue after their school. In the meantime, the courier agent intervened and ended up thrashing Kunal, who was turning aggressive, said the officer.

“This intervention did not go down well with Kunal who later called his aides and relatives seeking their help,” said the SHO.
His aides did not waste time in reaching the scene on the ‘distress’ call and chased the courier agent who now had taken to heels fearing serious repercussions, passers-by told police.
Soon as the victim parked the bike to hide himself in his house in Hanumanpuri, the attackers opened fire, injuring him in his leg.
Thereafter, hearing the sound of gunfire, his brother Nitesh Kumar (25) came out and was also shot at.
The attackers left the scene while brandishing weapons and warning to spill more blood if anyone confronted them, the locals narrated the police sequence of events.
Soon after the victim’s father Shivraj, informed the police. A police team immediately reached the spot and started the investigations.
“We have detained one Aditya Yadav who had taken the attackers on the bike and will soon arrest the attackers who have been identified as Ankur Pal and Abhishek Kumar,” said Aparna Rajat Kaushik, DCP, Central Zone.
