According to a new study, Mars may have had water for longer than previously assumed.

The Zhurong rover from China has discovered evidence that water has existed on Mars for considerably longer than previously thought. The hydrated minerals identified by the rover in a huge basin thought to be the site of an ancient ocean led to the discovery. Water traces were discovered in minerals dating back 700 million years.
