India Adds 18,257 Fresh Covid-19 Cases in a Day

India recorded 18,257 fresh infections in the past 24 hours. The recovery rate at 98.50 per cent accounted for 14,553 recuperations in the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to 4,29,68,533. The daily positivity rate stood at 4.22 per cent.

The number of active cases stood at 1,28,690 accounting for 0.30 per cent of the total number of cases. The active cases reported a rise of 3,662 in the last 24 hours. However, the mortality rate stood at 1.20 per cent recorded 42 fatalities taking the cumulative death toll to 525428. With the administration of 10.21 lakh vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 198.76 crore according to Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

According to the health ministry, more than 193.53 crore (1,93,53,58,865) vaccine doses have been provided to States/UTs so far through Govt. of India (free of cost channel) and through direct state procurement category. More than10.35 Cr (10,35,68,740) balance and unutilized COVID Vaccine doses are still available with the States/UTs to be administered.
