By India Today Web Desk: Amid heavy rainfall, waterlogging and flood-like situations in several parts of the country, a yellow alert has been issued for Mumbai and the surrounding districts of Thane, Palghar and the Konkan region for the next 24 hours by the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

Several states will continue to receive heavy spells of rain over the weekend, the weather department said in its latest forecast report.

A heavy rainfall spell is likely to continue over Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, west Madhya Pradesh and east Rajasthan for the next 4-5 days and over Tamil Nadu, interior Karnataka and coastal Andhra Pradesh for the next 3-4 days.

RAINS LASH DELHI-NCR
Heavy rain was witnessed in several parts of the national capital. The maximum and minimum temperatures settled at 27.1 degrees Celsius and 21.8 degrees Celsius, respectively.
