Woman killed in attack by wild elephants in MP's Shahdol

Officials said that a couple sleeping outside their house in Madhya Pradesh's Shahdol district was attacked by a herd of wild elephants from neighbouring Chhattisgarh. "The woman was trampled to death by the elephants, while her husband escaped with minor injuries," said the Jaisinghnagar forest range officer. The deceased's family was given a compensation of 24 lakh, the official added.
