Lucknow University prof assaulted after remark on Kashi Vishwanath temple

Lucknow University's Associate Professor RV Chandan was allegedly assaulted by a student on the campus on Wednesday, days after he made "objectionable" comments on Varanasi's Kashi Vishwanath temple. "Karthik Pandey, a student leader, came to me, started hurling abuses and casteist slurs at me and hit me," Chandan said. Pandey was overpowered by guards and handed over to the police.
