Owing to waterlogged roads due to heavy rainfall on Monday and weather predictions for tomorrow, Deputy commissioner of Bengaluru Urban, K Srinivasa ordered the closure of all schools and PU colleges on Tuesday.

The decision was taken after consulting educational institutions and predictions of rain across the Bengaluru district on Tuesday. As per the forecast, cloudy skies and light to moderate rainfall are expected in Bengaluru till September 1.

On Monday, heavy rainfall in Ramanagara region of Karnataka threw traffic out of gear on the Bengaluru-Mysuru highway as underbridges in the district were waterlogged. Schools were also shut following incessant rainfall in Channapatna, Chamarajanagar, Kanakapura and Ramanagara. The schools in the district will also be shut for the next two days on the account of Ganesha Chaturthi festivities.
