The Subhadra Yojana is designed to provide financial assistance to women aged 21 to 60 years, with the goal of benefiting over one crore women in Odisha. Under this scheme, each eligible beneficiary will receive a total of ₹50,000 over five years, translating to ₹10,000 annually. The first installment of ₹5,000 was disbursed to approximately 25 lakh women on the day of the launch. This direct transfer of funds into beneficiaries' bank accounts is intended to ensure transparency and eliminate intermediaries, thereby enhancing financial empowerment for women in the state

In addition to the Subhadra Yojana, PM Modi laid the foundation stones for railway projects worth ₹2,871 crore and unveiled national highway projects amounting to ₹1,000 crore. These infrastructure developments are expected to enhance connectivity and spur economic growth in Odisha. The Prime Minister's visit coincided with his 74th birthday, marking a significant occasion for both him and the state

During the event, Chief Minister Mohan Majhi praised the Subhadra Yojana as a revolutionary step towards women's empowerment. He expressed confidence that the scheme would help women realize their dreams and contribute positively to their families and communities

In conjunction with these initiatives, PM Modi also released the first installment of financial assistance under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G), benefiting approximately 13 lakh individuals across 14 states. This initiative aims to provide housing solutions for rural populations and is part of a broader effort to improve living conditions in India

The launch of these programs reflects the government's commitment to social welfare and infrastructure development in Odisha. By focusing on women's empowerment through financial assistance and enhancing transportation networks, the initiatives aim to create a more equitable and prosperous society

As part of his birthday celebrations, PM Modi interacted with beneficiaries of various schemes during his visit. He met with a family in Bhubaneswar who served him kheer (a traditional sweet dish) as a gesture of hospitality. Additionally, he handed over keys to new homeowners under the PMAY scheme, symbolizing hope and progress for many families

Overall, the launch of the Subhadra Yojana and the inauguration of significant infrastructure projects underscore the government's dedication to fostering development in Odisha while prioritizing women's empowerment as a key component of its social agenda.
