Varanasi 1 September:-(desk) In Kashi, devotees had the opportunity to witness the golden form of Maa Kushmanda at the Durga Kund. For the first time in the temple's history, the golden Mahadurga will be visible for seven days, extending beyond the usual six-day period.

The golden form of Adi Shakti Mahadurga is beneficial for devotees. Devotees had the opportunity to witness the golden form of Maa Kushmanda at Durga Kund. In a year, devotees can see the golden form of the Mother Goddess for only six days, but this is the first time they will be able to see her golden form for seven days. Previously, the darshan of Maa Durga's golden form was limited to just six days.

On the first day of the festival, in the evening, the golden idol of the goddess was bathed with Panchamrit and Panchgavya. After that, she was adorned with special flowers, including tuberose, roses, and lotuses, brought from Kolkata.

Goddess Kushmanda Adorned with Unique Garlands and Ornaments

On the occasion of the Shringaar Mahotsav at the Durga Kund temple in Varanasi, Maa Kushmanda was adorned with a unique garland resembling the shape of a hibiscus flower. Additionally, she was also adorned with Ramnami and Sitaram name garlands, enhancing her divine beauty.
The goddess's ears were decorated with earrings, her forehead with a vermilion mark, and her nose with a nose stud. Mahant Rajanath Dube explained that the Ramnami garland has been traditionally used to adorn the goddess since ancient times.

The grand aarti of the goddess was performed, and special halwa and ghughari were offered as bhog. A tableau depicting the Chhappan Bhog was also set up.
The Shringaar Mahotsav began with the chanting of Vedic mantras by 11 Vedic scholars under the guidance of Acharyas Shridhar Pandey and Balabhadra Tiwari. The scholars performed Veda paath, invoking the blessings of the Vedic deities.

Mahant Rajanath Dube and Vikas Dube welcomed the acharyas, while Aarti and Shringaar were performed by Sanjay Dube. Mahant Kaushalpati Dwivedi, Kishan Dube, Chandan Dube, and Chanchal Dube were also present on this occasion.
