Serena Williams starts with a big win

American tennis great Serena Williams began her WTA Tour farewell on a sound note, defeating Danka Kovinic in the opening round of the US Open 2022, the last Grand Slam of the year at the Flushing Meadows in New York. With 23 Grand Slam singles titles, Serena is just one shy of Margaret Court's all-time record.
