District-Level Volleyball Championship Concludes in Siswa Bazaar
Maharajganj 07 September (desk):-On Saturday, the District Secondary School Volleyball Championship was held at the sports grounds of Mariyam Inter College in Germa, Siswa Bazaar. The event featured intense competition between eight teams from across the district. In the boys' category, Digvijay Inter College from Chowk emerged victorious, while Mariyam Inter College claimed the top spot in the girls' division. The winning teams were awarded trophies, medals, and certificates by District School Inspector Pradeep Kumar Sharma, in recognition of their outstanding performances.
The tournament kicked off with a ceremonial inauguration by devotional singer Amit Anjan, setting a lively tone for the event. In the junior boys’ category, Maharajganj Inter College faced off against Mariyam Inter College, with Maharajganj securing a 2-0 victory. In the junior girls’ division, Digvijaynath Inter College from Chowk defeated Mariyam Inter College in a close match, winning 2-1. The event witnessed a high level of enthusiasm and sportsmanship from all participants.
In the senior boys' category, Digvijaynath Inter College from Chowk defeated Mahatma Gandhi Inter College from Brijmanganj in a competitive match. Meanwhile, in the senior girls' division, Mariyam Inter College dominated Shivnarayan Singh Inter College, securing a straight-set 2-0 victory. The winners of the tournament will now proceed to the regional competition, set to be held on September 9 at Baba Raghavdas Inter College in Deoria, where they will compete against teams from neighboring districts.
The event saw the presence of several dignitaries, including school manager Fareed Ahmed, principal Sazia Bint Taj, and notable figures such as Hoshila Prasad, Anmol, Dr. Diwakar Yadav, and Pramod Singh. Their support and encouragement added to the spirit of the competition. The championship not only highlighted the talent of young athletes but also reinforced the importance of sports in fostering teamwork, discipline, and healthy competition among students.
