The teenage girl had left her home without informing anyone on Wednesday afternoon, and when she did not return by late night, her family became worried. Despite extensive searching, she could not be located. The following morning, her body was discovered, leading to chaos and grief within the family.

In the Barwen village of the Babhnia police station area in Sonbhadra district, the body of a 10th-grade student was found hanging from a tamarind tree on Thursday morning, a short distance from her home. The incident caused a commotion in the family. Upon receiving the information, the police arrived at the scene, conducted an inquest, and sent the body for post-mortem examination to the Community Health Center in Duddhi.

According to reports, the deceased, Shakunti (15), daughter of Ramashankar Gond, was found hanging from a tamarind tree near her home. Her parents were in shock upon seeing their daughter's body, while her two brothers broke down in tears. Family members stated that Shakunti had left home without informing anyone on Wednesday afternoon and did not return. When she was still missing by late evening, the family began searching for her, but there was no trace.
On Thursday morning, as locals were heading to their fields, they noticed the body hanging from the tree. Upon closer inspection, they confirmed it was Shakunti's body. The sight of their daughter’s lifeless body sent her parents into despair, prompting loud cries from the family.

Shakunti was a 10th-grade student and had been experiencing mental health issues. She was the only sister among two brothers. The cries of her family brought tears to the eyes of nearby residents. The Babhnia police were notified, and upon arrival, they conducted an inquest before sending the body for post-mortem. Inspector-in-charge Sadanand Rai stated that the body is being sent for autopsy, and further action will be taken based on the report.
