Annu Rani now hopes for a medal before Neeraj Chopra, in the finals of the World Championship for the second time

Indian women's javelin thrower Annu Rani qualified for the finals of the World Athletics Championships with a throw of 59.60m in her last attempt. Annu was in danger of being dropped early as her first attempt was 'fouled' while in her second attempt she could only throw the javelin up to 55.35m. In the end, she managed to throw the 59.60m javelin which was enough to make it to the finals.

India's hopes of getting a gold medal in javelin throw at the World Athletics Championships have awakened. In fact, Annu Rani confirmed her place in the finals of the World Athletics Championships. Annu Rani has confirmed her place in the finals by throwing javelin up to 59.60m. Annu Rani achieved this position in her third attempt. She is the first Indian woman to qualify for the javelin throw final of the World Championships. Significantly, Annu Rani is the first Indian to make it to the finals of the Javelin Throw event for the second time in a row.

Annu Rani had earlier entered the final in the qualification round of the World Athletics Championships held in Doha in the year 2019, finishing at number eight, but missed out on a medal.
Annu finished sixth at the 2018 Asian Games with a dismal performance of 53.93m and then said that she needed counseling and watching inspirational videos to get out of this difficult phase of her career. She was very unhappy with her performance.
