Screenshot_2022_0621_140901.jpgNational Security Advisor Ajit Doval on Tuesday said a change in the armed forces' make-up is necessary if the country wants to prepare for future wars and conflicts. Speaking to news agency ANI, Doval said: "Security is a dynamic concept. It cannot remain static, it is only in relation with the environment in which we have to protect our national interest and national assets"

The comments come as the country witnesses major protests by armed forces aspirants against the Centre's military recruitment scheme - Agnipath. Under this scheme, the government will recruit youngsters for four years, following which there will be a mandatory retirement. The protesters are demadning a rollback of the scheme, fearing that it would throw 75 per cent of the joinees to unemployment after the completion of four-year service.

"The whole war is undergoing a great change. We are going toward contactless wars, and also going towards the war against the invisible enemy. Technology is taking over at a rapid pace. If we have to prepare for tomorrow, then we have to change," the NSA added
