Center gives Z+ security to Draupadi Murmu

On Tuesday, the NDA announced the name of Draupadi Murmu. Murmu has been the former Governor of Jharkhand.

Announcing the name of tribal leader Draupadi Murmu on Tuesday, BJP national president JP Nadda said that for the first time, priority has been given to a tribal woman candidate. If Draupadi Murmu wins the presidential election, she will be the first tribal woman president of the country.

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has expressed happiness over Murmu's nomination. He tweeted- "Many congratulations to Draupadi Murmu on being announced as the NDA candidate for the country's highest post. I was very happy when the Prime Minister of the country, Narendra Modi, discussed with me about his name. It is indeed a proud moment for Odisha."

In India, politicians or big personalities are generally provided with Z plus, Z, Y and X category of security. These include Union Ministers, Chief Ministers, Supreme Court and High Court judges, famous leaders and senior officials. All types of security provided by the Government of India include Special Protection Group (SPG), National Security Guards (NSG), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) agencies. The security of the Z plus category is the strictest security system in the country. This is considered VVIP category security. 36 security personnel are deployed in the security of this category. In this, the commandos of NSG and SPG are involved.

In this security, the responsibility of the first circle is of the NSG while the second layer is of the SPG commandos. Apart from this, ITBP and CRPF personnel are also included in the Z plus security category. The number of security personnel in Z category security is 22. In this category, ITBP (Indo-Tibetan Border Police) and CRPF (Central Reserve Police Force) personnel and officers are deployed in security. Escort and pilot vehicles are also provided in this category of protection.
