The case was initially filed by Mohammad Naseem, a resident of Asara village, on August 12, 2012. He alleged that on the night of August 11, five armed men, including neighbors Shakeel, Abbas, Ilyas, Shaukeen, and an unidentified person, broke into his house. They shot his eight-month pregnant sister-in-law, Sajida, and stabbed his brother Akhlaq. His sister Gulshana and mother Shabeela were also shot, and his father, Ablu Hasan, who was sleeping in a nearby cabin, was killed.

The brutal attack claimed the lives of Naseem's father and sister on the spot. Pregnant Sajida and his mother Shabeela succumbed to their injuries the following day at a hospital in Meerut. The police investigation led to the arrest of Shakeel, Abbas, Ilyas, Shaukeen, and Moharram, along with two more suspects, Randheera alias Ramzan and Deepak alias Naseeb from Panipat, and Salim from Muzaffarnagar.

After a lengthy legal process, the court found all nine accused guilty of the murders. The sentencing marks the end of a long and painful chapter for the victim’s family, who had been seeking justice for over a decade.
