Baghpat 06 September (desk):-The auction of land belonging to the family of former Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf in Baghpat has generated far more revenue than initially expected. The government had anticipated earning around ₹39.06 lakh from the auction of nine plots, measuring about 13 bighas. However, due to high demand, the final amount reached ₹1.38 crore.

The land, classified as "enemy property," is located in Kotana village across nine different plots. The most fiercely contested auction was for plot number 1074, measuring approximately 2.75 bighas. Initially valued at ₹7.98 lakh, it was ultimately sold for ₹30.88 lakh. The auction began at 11 AM and was scheduled to close by 4 PM, but due to continuous bidding, the process for this particular plot extended until 9 PM.

Other plots also saw significant interest. Plot number 1070, with a base price of ₹6.65 lakh, was sold for ₹25.85 lakh. The successful auction of these plots has added a substantial amount to the government’s treasury, far exceeding expectations.

While the auction of land in the “Bangar” area has been completed, the government will next auction the remaining enemy property located in the “Khadar” area, which is closer to the Yamuna River. The land in Khadar tends to be more vulnerable to flooding, while Bangar land, being farther from the river, is more secure for development.
