Agra: 20 years imprisonment for rapist of mentally unsound minor, victim gets justice in 36 days

Agra. The court of Special Judge (POCSO Act) of the district Pramendra Kumar sentenced the convict in the case of rape and POCSO Act of Etmaddaula within 36 days of framing of charges. In the case, the investigator had filed the charge sheet in 17 days. On September 8, the court framed the charges and started hearing. On the basis of evidence and statements, the accused was found guilty and sentenced to 20 years imprisonment and 20 thousand rupees fine.

The 17-year-old victim, a resident of Etmaddaula area of ​​Agra, is mentally unwell. His father lodged a complaint with the police station on July 8. It said that Neeraj, a resident of Artoni (Sikandra), his nephew, lives in the house of the woman in the neighborhood. Neeraj raped the daughter by calling her aunt's house. He was exploiting her for a long time. The incident came to know when the daughter was pregnant.

The father asked the daughter about this. He informed about the incident. The police registered a case against Neeraj for rape and under the POCSO Act. Investigator Devendra Singh completed the process of recording the medical and statement of the victim. After this, on July 25, the charge sheet against the accused Neeraj was filed in the court. On 8 September, the court started hearing the charges after the charges were framed.

On behalf of the prosecution, Special Public Prosecutors Vijay Kishan Lavania and Satendra Pratap Gautam produced the plaintiff, the victim, the investigator Devendra Singh, the female policeman Veena Singh and Dr. Ruchi Rani for their testimony in the court.

On the basis of the evidence available on the letter and the arguments of the Special Public Prosecutors, the court of Special Judge (POCSO Act) of the district, found the accused guilty under the POCSO Act and sentenced him to 20 years of imprisonment and a fine of Rs 20,000. Orders have been given to send a copy of the order to the District Legal Services Authority to get half the amount of fine to the victim along with getting her due compensation.
