In Jaunpur, in the Dugouli Kala village of the Badlapur Kotwali area, thieves broke into a house on Saturday night, holding the homeowner hostage in a room and making off with cash and jewelry worth 2.5 million. The police have begun an investigation after inspecting the scene based on the complaint filed.

The thieves entered the home of resident Himanshu Singh, locking the door of the room where he and his mother were sleeping from the outside. They then broke the locks of two other rooms and stole 20,000 in cash and some jewelry from two wardrobes. The thieves took approximately ten bags and boxes from the house and discarded the clothes inside about 100 meters away in a nearby forest.

Himanshu reported that the stolen items included two gold necklaces, two gold bangles, four rings, and dozens of silver ornaments, amounting to around 25 lakh in total. Inspector-in-charge Vinod Kumar Mishra stated that a case has been registered based on the complaint, and the investigation is ongoing.
