Police Recruitment Exam Applicants Decrease by 19.5% in Six Months

Jaunpur 1 September:-(desk) The impact of strict measures during the five-day police recruitment exam in the district has begun to show. In the past six months, the number of candidates for the police recruitment exam has decreased by 19.5%. In February, 5.45% of candidates skipped the exam, while in August, 24.95% did not participate.

The police recruitment exam was conducted at 52 centers in the district. It took place on February 17 and 18 in two shifts, with a total of 105,704 candidates expected to participate; however, only 99,938 actually showed up,
resulting in 5,766 absentees.

During this exam, 5.45% of candidates chose not to take it. The exam was canceled by the Uttar Pradesh government due to a paper leak.

In August, the exam was held again over five days, specifically on August 23, 24, 25, 30, and 31, at 34 centers in the district. This time, 141,840 candidates were scheduled to take the exam, but 35,397 were absent, leaving 106,445 participants.

The percentage of candidates who skipped the exam this time was 24.95%, which is 19.5% higher than the previous exam.
Additionally, during this round of exams, seven candidates were caught for misconduct.

The strict measures implemented during the examination process contributed to the increased number of candidates who chose not to participate.

On August 31, the exam was held at 34 centers in the district. A total of 28,368 candidates were supposed to participate, but only 21,814 showed up, resulting in 6,554 absentees. The nodal officer for the exam, Additional SP Brijesh Kumar, reported that the exam was conducted smoothly, and no cheating incidents were recorded on the final day.
