Har Ghar Tiranga campaign: 4k women in Odisha race to stitch 30 lakh flags

IMG_20220808_124224.jpgBHUBANESWAR: Nearly 4,000 women members of 300 self-help groups (SHG) across Odisha are busy stitching 30 lakh tricolours for the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign launched by the Centre to celebrate the 75th year of India's Independence.The project has not only given them a unique opportunity to earn bust also awakened patriotic feelings among them. The SHG groups have already despatched them to various corners of the state and are toiling hard to complete the target by August 10.

"For us it is not a job, it is a matter of pride. We are taking extra care while stitching the flags so that there will not be a violation of the flag code and no disrespect would be shown to the tricolour. We are feeling proud that the tricolours we are stitching will be hoisted at each and every home from August 13-15," said Pramila Barik, member of an SHG group.
