Punjab Kings' Harpreet Singh Bhatia Undergoes Successful Keyhole Spine Surgery after IPL 2023
Punjab Kings' middle-order batsman, Harpreet Singh Bhatia, has recently undergone a successful keyhole spine surgery to address discomfort he experienced during the recently concluded IPL 2023. During the 16th edition of the IPL, Harpreet played in three matches and accumulated 77 runs with an average of 25.67.

Following the surgery, Harpreet expressed his gratitude to the medical team of the Punjab Kings and Dr. Abhay Nene, who supervised the procedure. He mentioned that the recovery process has already commenced and extended his appreciation to the franchise's physios, Andrew Leipus, Abhijit Kar, and Rahul Ahluwalia, for their support during the IPL.
It is worth noting that Harpreet's participation in the IPL marked his return after a hiatus of 10 years and 332 days, setting a new record for the longest interval between two fixtures in the T20 competition. His previous IPL stint was with the now-defunct Pune Warriors India back in 2012.
In the 2022-23 season of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, Harpreet garnered recognition by accumulating an impressive total of 196 runs in six appearances for Chhattisgarh, boasting an average of 49.00. He also showcased outstanding performance in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2022, emerging as one of the leading run-scorers of the tournament. Harpreet amassed a remarkable total of 516 runs in seven matches for Chhattisgarh, including four half-centuries and two centuries.
In a related development, Chennai Super Kings captain MS Dhoni recently underwent knee surgery to address his ongoing troubles.
