PANAJI: As many as 12,000 families allied to the Goa Police will be screened for breast cancer under a grant by the YouWeCan Foundation of Yuvraj Singh.

All 12,000 families of Goa Police will be screened within the next seven days with several camps being organised during this process. This should ensure that every family is screened by them.

The project aims to screen 100,000 women in Goa over the next two years for the most common cancer in females, thereby ensuring that at least 50% of the age-eligible female population in the State is screened.

The screening process for the candidates of the Goa Police began this morning at a small ceremony in the presence of police chief Shri Jaspal Singh and other high-ranking officers.

The project was supported by the SBI Foundation, Indian Institute of Banking and Finance and the Government of Goa. It was launched in October 2021. Yuvraj Singh also thanked the Goa Police for their collaboration.

he added:

You keep us safe and this is our turn to make you feel safe from cancer. I am confident that through our collaboration, many women will step forward for screening and give a strong fight to this disease
