The protest against the first Bio CNG plant of Uttar Pradesh has started in Ghaziabad. Local people have stood up against this plant being built close to the population. Against this, in the last two days, about 2500 people have signed and approved this petition.
Bio-CNG plant has been planned for disposal of wet waste in Ghaziabad. It has been approved by the government. This plant will be installed near Crossing Republic/Dundahera. Vivek Srivastava, who is associated with the petition campaign against the plant, said, "People of this area are already forced to live amid pollution from factories in Bulandshahr Industrial Area. Now the people here will not accept the Bio CNG plant.

People said, 300 tonnes of wet waste coming daily in this proposed plant will make the life of about one lakh people living here hellish. The Indore plant is 11 km away from the population and the Chennai plant is 25 km away. Therefore, the Ghaziabad plant should be installed away from the populated area. It has also been told in the online petition that a 300-bed hospital is being built 50 meters away from this proposed plant. In such a situation, the hospital near the garbage plant would be inappropriate.

Tender also told illegal
Uttar Pradesh Solid Waste Management Policy is mentioned in the tender for this proposed Bio-CNG plant. According to this policy, the land for the Waste Management Plant will be determined as per Rule 11 of the Solid Waste Management Rules, 2016. According to Rule 11(6), it is mandatory to put it in the master plan after the determination of the land, which has not been done yet and cannot be done. Because as per master plan it is population/township. On this basis, the tender appears to be illegal.susChennaiWaste.jpg
