Heavy packet milk not only on pocket but also on health

Ghaziabad. Even in the milk of well-known companies like Amul and Mother Dairy, fat was not found as per the standards. When the team of the Food Safety and Drug Administration Department got the products of Simbhaoli Sugar Mill including milk, cream and sugar of other companies tested, they were found substandard. A fine of 33.95 lakh has been imposed on 31 establishments including Amul, Mother Dairy, Simbhaoli Sugar Mill, Pizza Hut after hearing in the court of ADM City. The companies will have to deposit this amount of fine within a month.

The Assistant Commissioner informed that a fine of Rs 8.24 lakh has been imposed on Amul and Rs 7.10 lakh on Mother Dairy.
Assistant Food Commissioner Vineet Kumar said that from April 2022 to January 2023, a total of 678 samples of food items were taken. Of these, 127 samples have been taken for milk. He told that apart from milk, flour, cream, samples of other food items and spices have also been found substandard. In the current financial year till the month of January, a total of 339 cases were filed in the court, out of which the decision has come in 330. Nine other cases are under consideration. So far a fine of Rs 2.32 crore has been imposed.
