Ghaziabad.The graph of pollution has started increasing and the harvesting of paddy crop will start soon.In such a situation, the DM has asked the farmers not to burn the stubble. Monitoring will be done in every tehsil area to stop stubble burning.The DM said that if the stubble is burnt, a fine ranging from Rs 2.5 thousand to Rs 15 thousand will be charged on the farmers.
DM Rakesh Kumar Singh says that the Air Quality Index (AQI) is increasing in NCR including Ghaziabad. He said that if any person burns the residue of stubble or other crops, he will be fined on the directions of the NGT. A farmer having less than two acres of land will be fined Rs 2500, from two to five acres Rs 5000 and farmers with more than five acres of land will be fined Rs 15,000. For this, instructions have been given to the officers at the tehsil level for monitoring.

In view of the AQI, the DM has appealed to the farmers to cooperate in keeping the environment clean. He said that burning of crop residues in the field has adverse effect on soil health along with pollution. He said that to manage the crop residue in the fields, use mulcher, baler, super seeder, Shrub master and mix it in the fields itself.
