Baghpat 11 September (desk):-Baghpat – Farmers in Baghpat are facing difficulties as two centers under the Doghat Cooperative Society have run out of urea and DAP (diammonium phosphate) fertilizers for the past week. This shortage has forced farmers to return empty-handed, causing frustration and concern during a crucial period for crop cultivation.

The shortage has been exacerbated by an ongoing strike from transporters and employees, who are demanding the fulfillment of various demands. As a result, the cooperative centers are not expecting new supplies of urea and DAP any time soon, further complicating the situation for local farmers. For over a week, farmers have been struggling without these essential fertilizers, leading to a potential threat to their crop yields.

Despite the farmers' complaints, the secretary of the cooperative society has not provided any updates or solutions to the issue. Responding to the crisis, Assistant Commissioner and Assistant Registrar Indu reprimanded the society's secretary and sent a letter instructing them to arrange for urea and DAP supplies from nearby centers. She emphasized that no farmer should have to leave without the required fertilizers.

Farmers are hoping for a quick resolution, as the delay in fertilizer availability could severely impact the sowing season. The cooperative society has been urged to act swiftly and ensure timely delivery of supplies to prevent further distress among the farming community.
