Residents claim that the high-tension line passing over the colony is old and worn out, making it prone to such incidents. They have repeatedly complained about frequent power outages and the risk of accidents due to the deteriorating wires. On Friday, when the wire fell, people such as Anuj Gupta, Udit, Anil, and Raju were walking nearby but narrowly escaped harm.

After the power department failed to respond swiftly, angry residents staged a protest, demanding immediate action to repair the faulty infrastructure. The locals expressed frustration over the negligence, stating that a serious accident could have occurred. The electricity supply was eventually cut off to prevent further danger, but the protest underscored the need for quicker response and preventive measures.

Assistant Engineer Sitaram later confirmed that electricity supply in the area will be disrupted for four hours on Saturday due to maintenance work on the 11 kV feeder lines. Meanwhile, residents continue to demand the replacement of the old high-tension line to avoid future risks and ensure a safer power supply in the area.
