The attack caused chaos, and the police were immediately called to the scene. However, by the time law enforcement arrived, the assailants had fled. The nodal officer filed a complaint at Chhaprauli police station, demanding strict action against those responsible for the attack. The power corporation team reported that they were merely performing their duties when they were unexpectedly confronted and attacked.

On the other hand, the villagers have leveled accusations against the team, claiming that they are being harassed for bill payments. According to the locals, a consensus had been reached in previous meetings with senior officials that no electricity bills would be paid until the dues from the Malkpur sugar mill were cleared. The villagers accused the team of breaking this agreement and threatening them with legal action, which they found unacceptable.

Assistant Engineer Sachin Kumar confirmed that the team had gone to Halalpur to collect overdue electricity bills when the incident took place. Both sides are calling for an investigation into the matter, and authorities are expected to take appropriate steps following the complaints filed.
