Maharajganj 07 September (desk):-Maharajganj: On Friday morning, a major power outage affected half of Maharajganj city, causing widespread inconvenience to residents. The outage, which began around 7 AM, led to a halt in the operation of essential services and amenities. The power failure created significant challenges, particularly for those observing religious fasts. Residents in areas such as Jay Prakash Nagar, Sarojini Nagar, Padri, and Amrutiyan were among the most impacted. The lack of electricity left many without access to drinking water, and several people struggled with non-functional home inverters. The heat added to the discomfort, compounding the issue for many.

By early afternoon, around 2 PM, the electricity department managed to repair the fault and restore power. Shailendra Gautam, Executive Engineer of the Electrical Distribution Division, confirmed that a breakdown in the 33kV power supply line had been identified and fixed. Despite the repair work, the prolonged outage led to significant frustration among residents and businesses.

The power cut also halted the operation of various commercial establishments, including flour mills and repair shops, further exacerbating the day’s difficulties. This incident highlighted the need for more robust infrastructure and contingency planning to handle power disruptions effectively and minimize their impact on daily life.
