Baghpat 11 September (desk):-Baghpat – A controversy broke out in a local college after female students were reportedly discouraged from wearing religious marks, such as tilaks, on their foreheads. The incident was brought to attention by BJP councilor Sanjay Ruhela, who visited the college to file a complaint against a teacher from a particular religious community, accusing her of advising the students against wearing the marks.

The issue came to light when some college girls visited the Ganesh Mahotsav pandal in the city’s Bada Bazaar on Tuesday morning to receive offerings. While doing so, the priest applied a tilak on their foreheads, but the girls refused to keep it. They informed Ruhela that a teacher had advised them not to come to college wearing religious marks.

Following this, Ruhela visited the college and lodged a formal complaint with the principal, demanding action against the teacher. The principal assured him that an investigation would be conducted, and appropriate steps would be taken based on the findings.

However, the accused teacher denied the allegations, claiming them to be false. The principal also revealed that no students came forward to confirm the accusations. Despite several attempts to contact Ruhela for clarification, he did not respond. The college administration is concerned about attempts to disrupt the peaceful environment of the institution and has requested a formal explanation from the councilor. Appropriate actions are expected to follow after a thorough inquiry.
