5 NOTORIOUS SNATCHERS CUM AUTO-LIFTERS NABBED BY STAFF OF PSs KESHAV PURAM, MODEL TOWN, MUKHERJEE NAGAR & MAHENDRA PARK UNDER OPERATION SAJAG.*
04 SNATCHED/STOLEN MOBILE PHONES, 01 STOLEN SCOOTY & 01 MOTORCYCLE ROBBED/STOLEN RECOVERED.*
02 BUTTON ACTUATED KNIVES ALSO RECOVERED.* ALL ACCUSED ARE HABITUAL & ACTIVE CRIMINALS, PREVIOUSLY FOUND INVOLVED IN SEVERAL OTHER CRIMINAL CASES.*
Under Operation Sajag, a continuing drive of North-West District for containment of crime & criminals and to dominate the streets so as to reduce street crimes as well as to instill confidence & sense of security among citizens, 05 notorious snatchers cum auto-lifters were nabbed by staff of PSs Keshav Puram, Model Town, Mukherjee Nagar & Mahendra Park.
Under this drive, alert patrolling staff and special pickets were deployed for intensive checking and during this exercise, a major breakthrough was achieved whereby staff of PSs Keshav Puram, Model Town, Mukherjee Nagar & Mahendra Park nabbed 05 notorious snatchers cum auto lifters and recovered 04 snatched/stolen mobile phones, 01 stolen scooty, 01 robbed/stolen motorcycle & 02 button actuated knives from their possession. All accused are habitual & active criminals, previously found involved in several other criminal cases.
Brief Facts & Incident Details:-
On 14.08.22, SI Naveen Kumar & HC Prince of PS Keshav Puram were performing patrolling duty in the area, when they noticed a suspicious person, who turned around on seeing police in order to run away. PS Keshav Puram staff acted promptly & displayed keen sense of alertness & swift response, while nabbing him after chasing at certain distance. On enquiry, he was identified as Ankit @ Maurya S/O Mool Chand R/O Railway Lines, Lawrence Road, Delhi (Age-20 yrs). During his cursory search, one mobile phone was recovered from his possession. On verification, recovered mobile phone was found stolen vide eFIR no. 000577/22 u/s 380 IPC dated 13/08/22 PS Keshav Puram. He disclosed that he was roaming in the area & looking for easy targets to commit crime and earn easy money. On sustained interrogation, he disclosed that he used to enter shops/homes, doors of which were left open carelessly & used to steal mobile phones swiftly and disappear. Further efforts are being made to trace his possible involvement in other cases also.
On 13.08.22, ASI Jarande Umesh, HC Pramod & Ct. Kamal of PS Model Town were performing picket duty near Ganda Nala, Gud Mandi, GTK Road, when they noticed two persons riding on a bike coming from Azadpur side, who tried to flee away on seeing police. Police staff acted promptly & nabbed them. On enquiry, they were identified as Bharat @ Nitin @ Pawan S/o Jag Mohan R/o Kishan Ganj, Karol Bagh, Delhi, (Age-23 yrs) & Manish @ Nitesh @ Matthi R/o Kishan Ganj, Karol Bagh, Delhi, (Age-23 yrs). During their cursory search, one button actuated knife and one mobile phone was recovered from the possession of Bharat @ Nitin @ Pawan & one mobile phone was recovered from the possession of Manish @ Nitesh @ Matthi. They disclosed that they were roaming in the area & looking for easy targets to commit crime and earn easy money. Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 841/2022 u/s 25/54/59 Arms Act was registered at PS Model Town and investigation was taken up. On verification, the mobile phone recovered from the possession of accused Bharat @ Nitin @ Pawan, found snatched vide FIR No 732/22 dated 13.08.22 u/s 356/379/34 IPC, PS Maurya Enclave and the mobile phone recovered from the possession of accused Manish @ Nitesh @ Matthi found stolen vide e-FIR No 00523/22 dated 13.08.22 u/s 379 IPC, PS Prashant Vihar while recovered motorcycle belonged to Ms Pooja w/o Sunil. On sustained interrogation, they disclosed that they used to commit theft of vehicles so as to commit snatching from possible targets to earn easy money. They further disclosed that they used to park the stolen vehicles at abandoned places. Both the accused are habitual and active criminals as accused Bharat @ Nitin @ Pawan found previously involved in 13 cases of Attempt to Murder, Robbery, Snatching, Arms Act, etc. while accused Manish @ Nitesh @ Matthi found previously involved in 01 case of Attempt to Murder. Further efforts are being made to trace their possible involvement in other cases also and to connect the recovered motorcycle to the concerned case.
On 13.08.22, ASI Jayprakash, HC Sunil Kumar & Ct. Mukesh Kumar of PS Mukherjee Nagar were performing patrolling duty near Ganda Nala Hudson Lane, GTB Nagar, when they noticed one suspicious person riding a scooty coming towards them, who took U-turn on seeing police in order to flee away. Police staff acted promptly & displayed keen sense of alertness & swift response, while intercepting him and nabbed him after covering a certain distance. On enquiry, he was identified as Rajesh @ Pinchu S/o Rajveer R/o Indira Vikas Colony, Mukherjee Nagar, Delhi, (Age-22 yrs). During his cursory search, one button actuated knife was recovered from his possession. Accordingly, a case vide FIRNo. 836/22 u/s 25/54/59 Arms Act was registered in PS Mukherjee Nagar and investigation was taken up. On verification, recovered scooty was found robbed in CASE FIR NO. 307/22, dated 27.05.2022, U/S 392/34 IPC, P.S Sarai Rohilla. Accused Rajesh @ Pinchu is a habitual & active criminal, previously found involved in 01 criminal case of theft. He disclosed that he was roaming in the area & looking for easy targets to commit crime and earn easy money. On sustained interrogation, he disclosed that he used to commit robbery & theft of vehicles and park the stolen vehicles at abandoned places to further use them to commit crime. Further efforts are being made to trace his possible involvement in other cases also.
In another incident on 12.08.2022, a PCR call regarding theft of mobile phone was received in PS Mahendra Park. Complainant alleged that they have caught a suspicious person, and he has apprehension that the suspicious person is the one who has stolen the mobile phone of the complainant. Considering the nature of incident, staff of PS Mahendra Park, immediately reached at the spot and apprehended one person. On enquiry, he was identified as Yogesh @ Vicky S/o Vikram Thakur @ Ramesh R/o Sec-16, Rohini, Delhi (Age- 30 yrs). During his cursory search, one mobile phone was recovered from his possession. On verification, the recovered mobile phone was found stolen from the complainant. Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 1080/22 u/s 379/411 IPC was registered in PS Mahendra Park and investigation was taken up. During his sustained interrogation, he confessed his crime in the instant case. He further disclosed that he used to enter shops/homes, doors of which were left open carelessly & used to steal mobile phones swiftly and disappear. Further efforts are being made to trace his possible involvements in other cases also.
