INTERSTATE AUTO-LIFTER ARRESTED BY SPECIAL STAFF, SOUTH DISTRICT.

THE ACCUSED USED TO SELL THE STOLEN VEHICLES IN M.P. AND NORTH EASTERN STATES.

The team of Special Staff, South District has done commendable work by arresting an interstate auto-lifter namely Satender Chaudhary in a case FIR No. 318/2022 u/s 25 Arms Act & 411 IPC, PS Hauz Khas. Upon his instance, 06 stolen cars, 01 Country made Pistol along with two live cartridges of .315 bore, 01 GPS Jammer, 01 Master Key, 01 ECM, 01 Car lock assembly, 01 Remote key & 01 Magnet have been recovered.

BRIEFING OF THE STAFF:-
To curb the incidents of auto theft in the area of South District, the team of Special Staff was specifically tasked to keep vigil on the activities of the criminals involved in auto lifting. Accordingly, the staff initiated sincere efforts by sensitizing local informers and collecting human intelligence. Therefore, the patrolling was intensified at the vulnerable areas for prevention and detection in the area.
INFORMATION, TEAM & ARREST:-

Consequently, the efforts of the team bore fruits when a credible input regarding movement of an active Interstate Auto-Lifter near Tikona Park, Shahpur Jat Village was received by ASI Manoj of Special Staff. The information was developed and a team comprising of SI Mahipal, SI Dharmender, ASI Manoj Kumar, ASI Jugnu Tyagi, ASI Joginder, HC Anoop Meena, HC Rakesh, HC Pankaj, HC Pushpendra, Ct. Lakhmi led by Inspector Atul Tyagi, I/c Special Staff under overall supervision of Sh. Rajesh Kumar, ACP/Ops/SD was formed to act swiftly. 

Accordingly, the information was further developed and a trap was laid near Tikona Park, Shahpur Jat Village. At about 08:35 AM, a car without number plate was noticed coming from the side of Tikona Park, Shahpur Jat Village.  The driver of the car was stopped but finding himself under police trap, the accused whipped out his country made pistol but the vigilant staff overpowered him and the country made pistol was taken from his hand. On his cursory search, 01 live cartridge was recovered from the pocket of his pant and after checking the barrel of recovered country made pistol one live cartridge of .315 bore was also recovered from it. Later on, he was identified as Satender Choudhary.  Hence, he was arrested. 

He was asked to provide the documents of the car and details of the car was verified which was found to be stolen from area of PS Dhakoli, District SAS Nagar, Punjab on 27/05/2022. On checking the recovered car, a bag containing the tools/equipments used in commission of autolifting viz. 01 GPS Jammer, 01 ECM, Car lock Assembly, 01 Remote key, 01 Magnet and 01 Master Key was recovered. The recovered articles and car were seized and a case vide FIR No. 318/2022 dated 06/08/2022 u/s 25 Arms Act & 411 IPC was registered at PS Hauz Khas and investigation was taken up. Further, upon his instance, 04 more stolen cars were recovered from the abandoned place at Indore, Madhya Pradesh & 01 stolen car near PVR, Vasant Vihar area.  All the recovered stolen cars were seized.

INTERROGATION:-

During the course of sustained interrogation, the accused Satender Choudhary disclosed that he came in contact of an active auto lifter of Nuh Mewat, Haryana. He convinced him to earn easy money by the way of auto thefts. Since then, he started committing auto thefts with him and sometimes alone. He used to sell the stolen vehicles in Indore (M.P.) and Arunachal Pradesh. He used to carry a weapon to escape, if he is caught.

MODUS OPERANDI:-

The accused used to conduct racee of the targeted area prior to stealing vehicles. He used to target i.e. costly luxury car and used master key, car lock assembly to open the targeted vehicle. Further, he jammed the GPS of the stolen vehicles with the help of a Jammer and finally fled away after starting the stolen vehicle with the help of external ECM. 

PROFILE OF ACCUSED ARRESTED:-

Satender Chaudhary S/o Shri Ram R/o Omex City, Palwal, Haryana, Age 39 years. He studied upto 12th standard and owns a Crane business at Palwal for towing the accidental or abandoned vehicles but his business turned very down. He was previously found to be involved in 05 cases:-

FIR No. 058/2019 U/S 420/406/468/34 IPC P.S. Vikaspuri, Delhi.
