Delhi-NCR News Today, Delhi News Live Updates: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday said that women were the real leaders of India’s dairy sector. While inaugurating the International Diary Federation’s World Diary Summit 2022 at the India Expo Centre and Mart in Greater Noida, Modi said, “Women lead 70 % of the work force. 1/3rd of members in daily cooperatives are women. The driving force is the women farmers living in rural India who have contributed immensely to the Indian dairy sector.” Modi also said the Centre along with states is making efforts to control Lumpy Skin Disease in cattle.

Many states are grappling with Lumpy Skin Disease (LSD) in cattle and the disease has emerged as a concern for the dairy sector. “Our scientists have also prepared indigenous vaccine for Lumpy Skin Disease,” Modi said. “In 2014, India produced 146 million tonnes of milk. Now it has increased to 210 million tonnes. That means an increase of about 44 percent,” he added.

The Delhi High Court Monday said St Stephen’s College cannot conduct interviews for students belonging to non-minority communities for admission to undergraduate courses, and ordered it to withdraw the admission prospectus in accordance with Delhi University’s (DU) instructions. The college has been directed to issue a public notice declaring the amended admission procedure.modi-wds-summit.jpg
