A Delhi Congress delegation meets the Police Commissioner, appeals to him not to close the probe into the Liquor Scam, in which Excise Minister Manish Sisodia is the main accused—Ch.Anil Kumar

NEW DELHI, September 5, 2022—A delegation of the Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee, under the leadership of DPCC president Ch. Anil Kumar, today met the Police Commissioner and appealed to him not to close the Police probe into the Liquor Scam, in which Delhi Excise Minister Manish Sisodia is the main accused. Ch. Anil Kumar apprised the Police Commissioner that Delhi Congress had submitted a complaint to the then Police Commissioner on June 3, 2022, containing all the details about the corruption and irregularities in the allotment of licenses and new liquor vends, and in the implementation of the Liquor Policy, in an illegal manner. He said that on the basis of the Delhi Congress complaint, the Economic Offences Wing of the Delhi Police had issued notice to the Excise Department of the Delhi Government, but according to media reports, the Economic Offences Wing was closing its probe into the Liquor Scam, after the Lt. Governor ordered a CBI probe into the liquor scam.

Ch. Anil Kumar appealed to the Police Commissioner not to close the case as the Kejriwal Government colluded with the liquor mafia for a total sellout of the liquor trade in the Capital to the liquor cartels, and the money taken from the liquor mafia was used in the Punjab Assembly elections by Aam Aadmi Party convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Excise Minister Manish Sisodia, for their personal gains.

Ch. Anil Kumar said that the Police Commissioner assured the Congress delegation that he would look into the matter and ensure that justice is 2.png
