On dated 16/06/22, at around 1045 pm, a PCR call of quarrel in E block, Jahangirpuri was received in PS Jahangirpuri

Police reached the spot and found that 4 injured persons went to BJRM hospital where one Abdul Mutalif s/o Abdul Mautif r/o E block Jahangir Puri, age 42 yrs died during treatment due to stab injury. 3 other injured persons sustained minor simple injuries.

During enquiry, it was found that there was a quarrel between two minor boys as cycle of one of them accidentally hit the another. Their families intervened and the quarrel escalated.

During quarrel, Mukhia @ Md. Russak ( father of one of the minor boy), his brother Md Rutaj aged 31 yrs, along with 2-3 other persons on one side hit Shahida Khatoon (mother of another minor boy), Abdul Mutalif , Abdul Wahid & Shabnam (brothers & sister of Shahida) on the other side.

During quarrel, Md. Rutaj stabbed Md Mutalif on chest, who later succumbed to injuries. Shahida, her sister Shabnam and her brother Abdul Wahid sustained minor simple injuries in quarrel.

A case u/s 302/323/34 IPC is being registered in this regard. Accused Md. Rutaj age 31 yrs has been apprehended. Md. Russaq @ Mukhia is absconding and efforts are being made to nab him.

There was no communal angle involved as both parties belonged to same community and are neighbours. No incident of stone pelting has occurred.
