Multiple Accidents in Baghpat Leave Three Dead, Six Injured

Baghpat 07 September (desk):-A series of road accidents in Baghpat district have claimed the lives of three individuals and left six others injured, with two in critical condition. The accidents occurred at various locations, including the Meerut-Baghpat National Highway, the Meerut-Baraut road, and the Dhikauli-Baghpat road, highlighting the dangers of reckless driving and traffic violations.

In one tragic incident, Nikhil, a 19-year-old resident of Meetli village, lost his life in a head-on collision between two motorcycles. Nikhil, who worked in a private company in Bahalgarh, Sonipat, was returning home with his cousin after their shift. A bike overtaking a car on the Baghpat-Merut National Highway crashed into Nikhil’s motorcycle, leaving both riders and the passenger severely injured. Despite being rushed to a private hospital in Tatiri, Nikhil succumbed to his injuries, while his cousin remains in critical condition.

In another fatal accident on the same highway, 65-year-old Ramesh Sharma from Shivpura village in Meerut was killed. Sharma had taken a ride on the bike of Momin, a resident of Hajooraabad Garhi, who was heading to Aminagar Sarai for a family visit. Near the toll plaza, a speeding pickup truck crashed into their motorcycle. Sharma died from his injuries at the hospital, while Momin sustained non-fatal injuries. Sharma, the eldest of four brothers, is survived by two sons and a daughter, and had been working in a private company in Modinagar.

These accidents have raised concerns over road safety, as most were the result of high-speed driving and dangerous overtaking. Police have initiated investigations into the incidents, while the injured are receiving treatment at various hospitals. Meanwhile, the families of the deceased are left mourning their tragic losses, and the community is calling for stricter enforcement of traffic laws to prevent further accidents.
