Baghpat 04 September (desk):-Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh was taken back to Rohtak's Sunaria Jail under heavy police security after completing his 21-day furlough. Ram Rahim, who is serving a life sentence for rape and murder, had been granted a temporary release from prison and spent the duration at the Dera Sacha Sauda ashram in Barnawa. The furlough, which began on August 13, marked the seventh time he has been granted such a leave.

During his time at the Barnawa ashram, Ram Rahim was accompanied by his adopted daughter Honeypreet Insan and other family members. His temporary release was met with significant public attention due to his criminal convictions and the influence he still holds among his followers. Previous furloughs and paroles have sparked debates about the fairness and legality of his repeated temporary releases, given the serious nature of his crimes.

On Wednesday, the day of his return to jail, a large contingent of police forces was deployed around the Barnawa ashram to ensure a smooth transfer back to Sunaria Jail. The police escort included a convoy of four luxury vehicles, all white, which left the ashram at around 3:05 PM and proceeded towards Rohtak. The security measures reflected concerns over potential unrest among his followers or attempts to obstruct the process.

Ram Rahim's furloughs have been a subject of controversy, with critics arguing that such frequent leaves undermine the severity of his sentence. Despite this, the Dera chief has consistently been granted these temporary releases, often citing health or personal reasons. As he returned to Sunaria Jail, the public and authorities alike remain watchful of the impact his presence, whether inside or outside prison, continues to have.
