Accused Shoots Victim's Father After Release from Jail in Baghpat

Baghpat 06 September (desk):-In Baghpat’s Kotwali area, a man accused of abducting a minor girl shot and seriously injured her father after being released from jail. The victim was rushed to the district hospital, where he is undergoing treatment.

According to the victim's mother, about a year ago, Manish, a resident of Meerut, had lured her minor daughter away. Following the incident, the police registered a case and arrested Manish, sending him to jail. After being released, Manish began pressuring the family not to testify against him in court, which they refused to do.

On Thursday night, Manish allegedly came to their house and fired shots outside, threatening the family. The family reported the incident to the police, but no immediate action was taken. On Friday morning, Manish returned to the house and shot the girl’s father, hitting him in the abdomen before fleeing the scene. The injured father was immediately taken to the hospital for treatment.

The police, after receiving the complaint, have now started investigating the matter. The victim’s family claims they are still being threatened, and despite earlier complaints, no concrete steps were taken to protect them. The police have assured a thorough investigation and appropriate action.
