Two Bangladeshi Nationals Caught Trying to Illegally Enter India at Bargadwa Border

Maharajganj 05 September (desk):-In the Bargadwa police station area near the Nepal border, SSB personnel apprehended two Bangladeshi nationals on Wednesday around 1:30 PM, as they attempted to illegally enter India. The duo was reportedly trying to reach Delhi. One of them was found with an Indian visa that had expired a month earlier. Security agencies, including the SSB and IB, are currently interrogating both individuals for further information.

According to reports, the SSB team was questioning people traveling through the Nepal-India route near pillar number 508/14 when they spotted two suspicious individuals crossing from Nepal into India. The team stopped and questioned them, leading to the discovery of Bangladeshi passports in their possession. The suspects were identified as Ahmad Rubel and Miyan Muhammad Khukan. Khukan was carrying an Indian visa that had been issued on May 9, 2024, and expired on August 8, 2024. The visa mentioned the Portugal Visa Application Center in New Delhi.

During interrogation, the two revealed that they had arrived in Kathmandu from Dhaka, Bangladesh, two days earlier. On September 3, they reached Nawalparasi district in Nepal, from where they planned to enter Delhi. The two fell into the trap of some local agents who promised to help them cross into India illegally. They were caught during their attempt to enter India through the Bargadwa border route.

The SSB and other security agencies are continuing their investigation. The suspects informed the authorities that they were scheduled to attend an interview at the Portuguese Embassy in New Delhi on September 6, 2024. SSB Bargadwa BOP in-charge Sarvesh Yadav confirmed that the two Bangladeshi nationals were apprehended for attempting illegal entry, and questioning is ongoing.
