Renowned for his remarkable ability to guide India to victory during challenging chases, Kohli's presence at the crease will be crucial as India sets out to pursue 280 runs with seven wickets remaining on Sunday.

Kohli, currently batting on 44 with Ajinkya Rahane by his side, boasts an impressive track record in the fourth innings. In 76 matches, the 34-year-old has amassed 1033 runs at an impressive average of 49.19.

Speaking to the International Cricket Council (ICC) prior to the match, Kohli attributed his recent resurgence in all formats of the game to his role as a chase master.

"What motivates me is knowing that I have the opportunity in every game I play for India to lead my team to victory," Kohli expressed to the ICC ahead of the World Test Championship final. "I believe there is no greater motivation in sports than that. Each morning, before any game, I wake up with the firm belief that I will be the player who steers my team to success."

Kohli emphasized his enthusiasm for taking on the responsibility of guiding the team when he is at the batting crease.

"I am still as excited about being the player who contributes to my team's success when I am out there batting," Kohli declared.

Furthermore, Kohli expressed his desire for his teammates to feel at ease when he is on the field, taking pride in his position as a reliable figure for the team.

"I want my team to feel comfortable, knowing that I am out there and capable of getting the job done. It is something I have always taken immense pride in, and I am incredibly grateful to be in a position where the team can rely on me," Kohli stated.

Continuing his unwavering determination, Kohli concluded by asserting, "I still wake up every morning believing that I can be the man who delivers for the team."
