International Senior Citizens Day Seniors getting support from Chiranjeevi Yojana - Chief Minister

Desuri jaipur. Chief Minister Shri Ashok Gehlot said that the State Government is taking decisions with commitment and sensitivity to provide social security to the senior citizens of the State. Chief Minister Chiranjeevi Swasthya Bima Yojana has empowered our seniors and work has been done to make them worry free from the cost of illness in old age. He said that apart from setting up the Senior Citizens Welfare Board, the State Government is also fulfilling the wishes of thousands of senior citizens of the state by providing them free pilgrimages under the Senior Citizens Tirth Yatra Scheme. Similarly, according to the great culture, tradition and rites of India which has been going on for centuries, the state government is serving the elderly people as a trusted support.

Shri Gehlot was addressing the National Senior Citizen Award Ceremony organized by Manav Seva Sansthan on Sunday. Appreciating the work being done by the institute, he thanked the office bearers for taking a pledge to serve the people. He said that the problems of a person on getting older are different, related to family, social and health. In old age, they need a confidant friend, relative or support who instills in them the confidence to lead a better life. Such institutions are playing this role with full devotion and service. During this, Shri Gehlot came down from the stage and honored the seniors by draping them with shawls and presenting them with mementos.

Seniors freed from the cost of illness

Shri Gehlot said that the Chief Minister Chiranjeevi Swasthya Bima Yojana has empowered our seniors and they have become free from the cost of illness in old age. Free medical facility up to Rs.10 lakh is being provided under the scheme. IPD, OPD, checks have also been done free of cost. The entire cost of the transplant is also being borne by the government.
