53.81 percent votes cast in Panchayat by-election

Banda News 7 August (desk):- Banda: The by-elections for the Panchayat and District Development Council (DDC) were held on Tuesday amidst tight security. The voter turnout was impressive, with 53.81% of voters casting their ballots in the Panchayat elections and 35.33% in the DDC elections.

In Tindwari's Amalor Gram Panchayat, 61.60% of voters exercised their franchise, while in Sari village, the turnout was 55.91%. The Sari village election was significant, as four candidates, including the nephew of the deceased former Pradhan, Vinod Nishad, and former Pradhan Sitaram Nishad, contested for the post.

The SDM of Palani, Shashi Bhushan Mishra, and CO Sadar Ajay Kumar Singh monitored the polling process in Sari and Amalor villages. In Amalor, 10 candidates, including Gore Singh, Chunn Singh, and former Pradhan Jayakaran Singh, contested for the Pradhan post.

Sector Magistrates Shubhendu Singh and Rajesh Kumar were deployed in Sari and Amalor villages, respectively. Additional security forces from Palani, Jaspura, and other police stations were also deployed to ensure a smooth polling process.

In Baberu, 35.33% of voters cast their ballots in the DDC elections, with 14,750 out of 41,750 voters exercising their franchise. In Badoli, 68% of voters cast their ballots for the Gram Pradhan post, while in Marka, the turnout was 53%.

The by-elections were held to fill vacant posts in various Panchayats and the DDC. The elections were peaceful, with no major incidents reported. The results are expected to be announced soon.
