GNCAP Crash Test: Top selling Hyundai Creta, i20 join Kia Seltos in 3 star unstable club

New Delhi: The popular compact SUV Hyundai Creta along with premium hatchback i20 have scored three-stars by the vehicle safety accreditation group Global NCAP on Tuesday. Toyota compact SUV Urban Cruiser secured a 4-star rating for adult occupant protection and scored 3 stars for child occupant protection in the latest round of crash test.

According to Alejandro Furas, Secretary General of Global NCAP, although the overall star rating of these models might seem reasonable, the continued reluctance of manufacturers like Hyundai and Toyota to equip safety systems such as ESC and side body and head protection airbags as a basic requirement in India is disappointing.
