 03 DESPERATE AUTO-LIFTERS CUM SNATCHERS NABBED BY STAFF OF PS SHALIMAR BAGH & AATS/NW UNDER OPERATION SAJAG.

 04 STOLEN SCOOTIES & 02 STOLEN MOTORCYCLES RECOVERED.

 04 STOLEN/ SNATCHED MOBILE PHONES ALSO RECOVERED.

 ONE ACCUSED IS HABITUAL & ACTIVE CRIMINAL, PREVIOUSLY FOUND INVOLVED IN ANOTHER CASE OF ROBBERY.

 THEY USED TO COMMIT THEFT OF VEHICLES SO AS TO USE THE SAME IN COMMITTING SNATCHINGS AND ABANDONED THE SAME AT RANDOM PLACES OR SELL THEM SO AS TO EARN EASY MONEY.

Under Operation Sajag, a continuing drive of North-West District for containment of crime & criminals and to dominate the streets so as to reduce street crimes as well as to instill confidence & sense of security among citizens, 03 desperate auto-lifters were nabbed by staff of PS Shalimar Bagh and AATS /NW.

Under this drive, alert patrolling staff and special pickets were deployed for intensive checking and during this exercise, a major breakthrough was achieved whereby staff of PS Shalimar Bagh and AATS Staff/NW nabbed 03 desperate auto-lifters and recovered 04 stolen scooties & 02 stolen motorcycles and 04 stolen/ snatched mobile phones from their possession. One accused is habitual & active criminal, previously found involved in another case of robbery.

Brief Facts & Incident Details:-
On 08.08.22, a secret information was received at PS Shalimar Bagh regarding suspicious activities of two suspicious persons in the area. Immediately, a dedicated team was formed consisting of ASI Sanjay, HC Abhishek, Ct. Dinesh & Ct. Bhupender under close supervision of Insp. Sudhir Sharma, SHO/ PS Shalimar Bagh & Sh. Swadesh Kumar, ACP/Shalimar Bagh and overall supervision of the undersigned. Accordingly, a trap was laid down to nab these suspected persons based on the leads of the collected information. The team positioned near Shamshan Ghat, Haiderpur where they noticed two suspicious persons riding a scooty coming towards them, who accelerated on seeing police in order to flee away. Police staff acted promptly & displayed keen sense of alertness & swift response, while intercepting them and successfully nabbed them. On enquiry, they were identified as Rakesh @ Avinash @ Mangal S/o Gopal Singh R/o West Shalimar Bagh, Delhi (Age- 30 years) and Varun Gangwani S/o Lt. Shri Chand Gangwani R/o East Shalimar Bagh, Delhi (Age-28 yrs). During their cursory search, two mobile phones were recovered from their possession. On sustained interrogation, they disclosed that they were roaming in the area & looking for easy targets to commit crime and earn easy money. On further verification, the recovered scooty no. DL8S BR 7508 was found stolen vide e-FIR No. 022203/22 u/s 379 IPC PS Shalimar Bagh. During further interrogation from accused, one more stolen scooty and 2 stolen motorcycles were recovered on their instance. They further disclosed that they had stolen the aforesaid vehicles and they used to commit theft of vehicles so as to sell them and earn easy money. Further efforts are being made to trace their possible involvements in other cases also and to connect the recovered mobile phones in concerned cases.

In another incident on 08.08.2022, acting upon a secret information, a trap as laid near Shamsahan Ghat, Shalimar Bagh by staff of AATS/ North-West and a person scooty bearing number DL 8S BZ 3665 was apprehended who was identified as Rajesh @ Raju S/o Naval Kishore Jha R/o Jhuggi No 267, Sanjay Camp, Haiderpur, Delhi, Age-26 years. The Scooty on which he was travelling was a found to be stolen vide FIR No. 018999/22 dated 10.07.22 PS Shalimar Bagh. On his instance, further two stolen mobile phones and one stolen scooty have been recovered. He disclosed that he commit the theft of parked vehicles and use the same for further committing snatching or theft at random places so as to earn easy money by selling the same. The recovered mobile phones were stolen in cases of PS Adarsh nagar and recovered scooty is found stolen in a case of PS Begumpur. Further efforts are being made to trace his possible involvements in other cases also.

 Rajesh @ Raju S/o Naval Kishore Jha R/o Jhuggi No 267, Sanjay Camp, Haiderpur, Delhi, Age-26 years. Previous Involvement: one case of Robbery.

Recovery:-
• 04 stolen scooties & 02 stolen motorcycles
• 04 snatched/ stolen mobile phones
