Maharajganj to Launch New Procurement Centers for Paddy in 2024-25

Maharajganj 05 September (desk):-In Maharajganj, preparations are underway for the paddy procurement season of 2024-25, with a focus on establishing new procurement centers. Deputy RMO Vivek Kumar Singh held a meeting with center managers to discuss the upcoming paddy purchase, which is set to commence on November 1, 2024. The aim is to streamline the procurement process and ensure smooth operations for farmers.

The district has set a target to establish 169 procurement centers, although only 98 centers have been completed so far. The district food marketing officer emphasized the importance of a transparent and timely procurement process to prevent any inconvenience to farmers. The minimum support price for paddy this year has been set at ₹23.83 per kilogram, ensuring better returns for the farmers.

The procurement centers will be equipped to handle large volumes of paddy and provide facilities that cater to the needs of farmers. The centers are expected to facilitate prompt payment and efficient management of paddy purchases. The district administration is committed to ensuring that the procurement process is conducted fairly and that farmers receive the full benefits of the minimum support price.

With these measures in place, the authorities hope to enhance the efficiency of the paddy procurement process and support the local agricultural community.
