Film director Sanoj Mishra, known for his film "The Diary of West Bengal," had been missing since August 15. His wife, Dhruhti Mishra, filed a missing person's report at the Gomtinagar Extension police station. He was later spotted at Assi Ghat in Varanasi and was subsequently handed over to his wife.

According to Inspector Sudhir Awasthi from Gomtinagar Extension, Sanoj Kumar Mishra resides in the Sulabh Housing Sector 6 in Lucknow. His wife reported him missing after he was summoned by the Kolkata Police for questioning related to the film. On August 14, he left for the airport with his nephew, traveling to Guwahati and then to Kolkata. However, his phone was turned off on August 15, and he became unreachable.

The police noted that Sanoj had turned off his mobile phone, making it difficult to locate him. The Uttar Pradesh Police were searching for him at various potential locations when he was found at Assi Ghat in Varanasi. After being located, he was safely brought back to Lucknow.

Sanaj Kumar informed the police that he was frightened by the questioning related to the film and feared arrest. To avoid this, he broke his mobile phone in Kolkata and traveled to Varanasi by train. The police have since returned him to his wife.
