Industrialist Anand Mahindra's big announcement for Agniveers

Demonstrations are taking place across the country regarding the new Agneepath scheme for recruitment in the army. In the last 5 days, violent demonstrations were seen in many states including Bihar, UP. Meanwhile, Mahindra Group chairperson Anand Mahindra has announced that he will give Agniveers a chance to work in his company. He said that he is saddened by the violence taking place over this scheme.

Actually, under the Agneepath scheme, youth will be recruited in the army for four years. They are being called 'Agniveer'. After four years, only 25 percent of these firefighters will get permanent jobs. The remaining 75 per cent Agniveers will have to leave their jobs. Youth are raising this issue prominently in the protests against this scheme.

This is the first time after the announcement of the Agneepath scheme, that an industrialist has spoken of recruiting Agniveers. However, many people started questioning about this announcement of Anand Mahindra that what kind of employment he would give to the people coming from the army. A Twitter user Sandeep Kumar asked Anand Mahindra in response to his tweet, what kind of position will be given to Agniveers in Mahindra Group.

Earlier, on June 14, the central government had announced the Agneepath scheme. Since then, demonstrations started in different parts of the country. Soon these demonstrations turned violent. Several trains were set on fire. Photos of vandalism came out from many places. Meanwhile, many other announcements were made by the government regarding the Agneepath scheme.
