02 AUTO-LIFTERS CUM SNATCHERS NABBED BY THE PATROLLING TEAM OF PS ROOP NAGAR. 02 SCOOTIES STOLEN FROM THE AREA OF PS MODEL TOWN AND SARAI ROHILLA RECOVERED FROM THEIR POSSESSION. BOTH THE ACCUSED ARE HABITUAL CRIMINAL WITH THE HISTORY OF INVOLVEMENT IN 05 & 02 CASES RESPECTIVELY.*
03 CASES OF M.V. THEFT AND SNATCHING REGISTERED IN POLICE STATIONS MODEL TOWN, SARAI ROHILLA AND ROOP NAGAR HAVE BEEN WORKED OUT WITH THEIR ARREST. Keeping in view, the regular directions of senior officers regarding checking the menace of criminals and to curb street crime, police presence has been increased in the beat area of PS Roop Nagar by regular area patrolling and conducting random picket checking during odd hours to surprise the criminals. PS Roop Nagar staff has also been directed for maximum use of ROKO-TOKO strategy of Delhi Police.
BRIEF FACTS:
On 16.08.2022 a dedicated police team comprising of ASI Om Prakash, HC Hari Mohan, and HC Vain Singh of PS Roop Nagar was performing night patrolling duty in the area, under the close supervision of Inspr. Joginder Dahiya, SHO/PS Roop Nagar and guidance of Shri Satender Yadav, ACP/Civil Lines.
During patrolling at about 12:15 AM, the above said police team reached near Nagia Park, Canara Bank, Shakti Nagar, Delhi wherein they noticed two suspicious persons riding on a Scooty without helmet. The Patrolling party signalled to stop them for checking and enquiry, but instead of stopping they tried to escape away from the spot by accelerating the speed of Scooty. However, the alert and valour police team instantly swung into action and they succeeded in intercepting the Scooty bearing registration No. DL 8SBR-XXXX and apprehended the suspects after a short chase.
The suspects could not give satisfactory reply about their presence in the area and also failed to produce any document for its ownership. Subsequently, on checking in police record the Scooty being ridden by the suspects was found to be stolen from the jurisdiction of PS Model Town. The accused persons were identified as Abhishek, aged-18 years and Shiv Parsad @ Amit, aged-28 years. Both the accused persons have been arrested u/s 41.1 (D) & 102 Cr.PC at PS Roop Nagar, Delhi and investigation was taken up.
INTERROGATION:
During interrogation, the accused persons revealed that they have stolen the recovered Scooty from Tripolia Gate, Rajpura, Gurmandi area about a week ago and they were using the same for committing criminal activities. On verification, a case vide e-FIR No. 022546/22, dated 10.08.2022 u/s 379 IPC was found registered at PS Model Town on the complaint of Shri Surender Kumar r/o Rajpura, Gurmandi, Delhi.
On sustained interrogation, the accused persons also confessed to commit some other crimes of M.V. Theft and Snatching in the area of PS Sarai Rohilla and Roop Nagar. Later on at their instance one more Scooty was recovered which was found parked in the bushes near Jhuggi area, Railway Line, Shastri Nagar. On verification, a case vide e-FIR No. 020711/22 dated 25.07.2022 u/s 379 IPC was found registered at PS Sarai Rohilla on the complaint of Shri Praveen Saini r/o Shastri Nagar, Delhi.
Consequently, 03 cases of M.V. Theft and Snatching registered in Police Station Model Town, Sarai Rohilla and Roop Nagar have been worked out with their arrest.
Both the accused persons are habitual criminals and are also drug addicts, so they commit crime to earn easy money and to fulfil their lust of drugs.
DETAIL OF ACCUSED PERSONS:
Abhishek r/o Juggi near Hanuman Mandir Shakti Nagar, Delhi, aged-18 years. (Previously found involved in 05 cases of Theft registered in Police Station Bharat Nagar, Delhi).
Shiv Parsad @ Amit r/o Sindhora Kalan Shakti Nagar, Delhi, aged-28 years. (Previously found involved in 02 cases of Hurt registered in Police Station Sarai Rohilla).
RECOVERY:
• 02 Scooties (both Honda Activa) stolen from the area of Police Stations Model Town & Sarai Rohilla.
