Probe Ordered After Video of Boy With Sibling’s Body Goes Viral

Taking note of the dereliction a father faced to ferry back the dead body of his younger son, the MP govt has ordered a probe into the incident and issued a show-cause notice to the Morena District Hospital’s civil surgeon.

In a media interaction, Home Minister Narottam Mishra taking cognizance of the incident that led to an outrage among people made the statement. “Morena district hospital’s civil surgeon. District panchayat CEO has been directed to conduct the inquiry and submit a report by Monday evening. Financial assistance is also being provided to the bereaved family,” Mr Mishra, who is the state government’s spokesman said.

A video of an 8-year-old boy holding the body of his two-year-old brother outside Morena district hospital, located 30 km from Badfara village went viral on social media. The clipping garnered a huge number of views and netizens lashed out at the authorities for being ‘insensitive’.

On preliminary investigation, it is learnt that Puajaram Jatav, a resident of Badfara Village, brought his younger son to Morena district hospital on Sunday morning in an ambulance after being referred from a hospital in Ambah town of the district. Shortly after being admitted the toddler breathed his last following which the father asked for an ambulance from the hospital authorities. The video was then captured when the family waited for the ambulance.
